Test Tube Challenge

Well... It is my favorite day of the week here again, Wednesday, which means Hambo Hoedown time over at Hambo Stamps. This week the image is "TEST TUBE" and the challenge is to incorporate bubbles in your project. I have a mini stamp of a fish blowing a few bubbles, so I cut them off the fish stamp, cut them up and stamped a heart shape with them, then added a few glossy accents. Have you noticed that I also have another bubble??? yes thats right...... a speech bubble!!!! hee hee. Hope you can play along, I would love to see your interpretations.

Soooooooo...........Here is my creation!!!  I am so into the metal tape art technique at the moment, so I thought I would have a go at making a prison door type thing to go with the cute PIG INMATE digi image and sentiment. It was so much fun to do, I covered BBQ skewers with foil tape to make the prison bars, and a cut up spellbinders cross to do the door hinges. So can you guess the Band??? well .....actually, I have chosen two bands that are fitting for this card!!!!

Yayyyyy!!! I'm sure you guessed it....Firstly it could be "The Wanted" The English-Irish boy band who have had hits with Chasing the sun, and Glad you came.

The second band that I found fitting for this is " The Killers" The American rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2001

Hope you had fun in my Blog Hop Post, Now Hop on over to Sue

Monkey Punch

It's Wednesday...so that means it is Hambo Hoedown time over at Hambo Stamps, and this weeks digital image is called "Monkey Vine" which can be purchased here....unless you joined in the hoedown last week, then you get it for free. The challenge is to use punches with your project, well I am a bit low on punches, I am a die cutting type of gal, I have a mini flower punch that I have used to put flowers on the vine, adding a bit of black stickles in the centre, then I used a border punch on the bottom of my card. I am such a sucker for cute and cheeky animal images, monkeys, pigs, cows and sheep all make me go "awwwwww" and this cheeky monkey is no exception. Hop over and join in the Hoedown fun, I would love to see your work.

Riveting Robot

This weeks HAMBO STAMPS digital Image is "ROBOT", you can purchase it here. This week is a sketch challenge drawn by the super talented Lyn. I adore robot images and as soon as I saw it I remembered seeing a metal tape art video on youtube last week, and as I was itching to have a go at this I thought this is the perfect image to go with that technique, so off I went to the local hardware store and purchased some self adhesive metallic tape, some plasterboard (drywall) tape, and some black acrylic paint.  I totally loved doing this and was soon looking all around my house searching for things I can use this metal tape art on..... frames, canvasses, etc. The sentiment is "Feeling rusty?" so I die cut the letters from rusty and glued them on my cardstock before adding the metal tape over the top, seriously you should have a go at this, it is fun and super easy, somewhat time consuming but the end result is worth it. Here is the sketch and the finished card.

Sunflower, Spyglass, and Staples...Oh My!!

It is Wednesday again, so it means it is Hoedown time over at HAMBO STAMPS, and the new digital image is "Word Search" which can be found HERE, and the challenge is to pick a letter of the alphabet and use two or three things starting with that letter, my letter is S..., Sunflower, Staples, Spyglass, Spots. I seemed to struggle this week, pondering over it all the time, but I kinda like how it turned out, and I just love making paper flowers, especially the sunflowers, for the centre I use a bit of nut brown flowersoft, it does them a treat.
There are great things happening at Hambo Stamps, on Friday the 24th of May they are having a customer inclusive blog hop. the theme is "THE BATTLE OF THE BANDS" Using any Hambo image, create a project that represents and depicts the name of a (professional) band! Maybe it’s your favorite group, or maybe it’s one that you don’t even like! Whatever it is, we want to see your BAND NAME creations! You do not need to have the Band name on your card or project, but please put it in your post.
TO SIGN UP, send an email to hambodesignteam@gmail.com with "BLOG HOP" in the title BY MAY 15. Once we receive that, you will receive all the low-down on how to participate! ........ Now for my Word Search Card
Hope to see you at the Hambo Hoedown Challenge this week :)
