Tim's August Tag

I am so lovin the Tim Holtz 12 tags challenges. You can see his inspiration example for the August tag challenge HERE. He starts off by adding tissue tape to his tag to create a resist so that when you stamp your focal image on top, then the image will shine through when you apply colour over the top. I have to say that I found this tag extremely hard to think about, nothing flowed in my mind, I have come to realise that I usually work best when an idea comes straight in my head and then I work on that, or when I am doing something else crafty and I think..Tim Holtz tag moment!!! (or whichever challenge is going on,) but just sitting there wondering what to do....with my limited Tim Holtz supplies gives me headache!!!! Note to self; less thinking, more doing!!

Sweaty Hog!!!

It is halfway time for the Hambo Stamps  humor..or (humour if you are English!!) hoedown challenge. I made this card using the fun SWEAT HOG rubber stamp. so why don't you join in the fun, we would love to see your creations and have a few laughs along the way, there are prizes for the winners.

I am also adding this to the Splitcoaststampers fan club gallery. my time has ended being a dirty girl, I just loved being part of that team and enjoyed the different themes each month, this month the theme is "babbling" so I thought this card would fit nicely!!.

Little Hoo Hoo

I am totally lovin the weekly challenges over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog, this week Kathi has challenged us to see how music inspires us, by using song lyrics, music notation or any words associated with music. Well........ when I got my new stamps last week, as soon as I saw the Little Hoo Hoo stamp I knew that I wanted to pair these words with this fabulously cute stamp. for the background I smushed some marmalade distress ink onto an embossing folder, spritzed it, and then placed a piece of cardstock onto it, easy peasy.

Bow Tie

This week over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge, Jackie is challenging us to add a bow or bows to your project. I must admit that I had a fabulous idea in my mind, but couldn't do anything as I was on my holidays, (just got back yesterday), then, lo and behold, someone else submitted a card with the very idea I had in mind, so that plan went out of the window!!! I was wracking my brains for another idea...pretty hard with my limited supply of Stampotique stamps.....That's gonna change tho!!! Anyway, while I was surfing the net while sat on the beautiful sea view balcony that my wonderful partner had booked for us...just 5 metres away from the beach, the sound of the waves gently breaking on the shore, I noticed that there was another wonderful stampotique stamp for sale on Ebay......Yayyyyyyyy!!! and guess what....I MADE SURE I WON IT!!!!! well...I couldn't wait to get home, and there it was, waiting for me on the doormat when I opened the door. So here he is, my most recent addition to my family, don't you just love him!! he is Bow Tie by Daniel Torrent. The image is already wearing a bow tie, but I made him a larger one with some black cardstock. I added him to my acrylic paint background, I love doing those also, and eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new Gelli plate. So.....now I have 4 Stampotique stamps to stroke. #LOVE.

I'm in love!!!!

Yep...it is official.... I am totally in love with Stampotique Stamps, all of em, but especially the Daniel Torrent ones, they are so creepy and gothic (I am a closet goth)!! I adore them, and I have been waiting very patiently for any Stampotique stamp to appear on Ebay.....and guess what!!!! THREE came up all at the same time, and I won them....yippeeeeeeeeee!!! so now I have the start of my new addiction!!!
Soooooo without hesitation, I started on with this weeks new Stampotique Designers Challenge which is  "black and white with a pop of color".
I totally enjoyed making the background for this card, I started off by brayering some black and white splodges on some white card, then adding splats of black and white, then partly drying them with a heat tool, and just before they are completely dry, brayering over them, then added some chevron and dot fade stencilling with the Tim Holtz stencils,  I finished off with some sewing, computer generated words, and the girl with the heart purse stamp. such fun, and I love the result.
